In the mystery drama Galileo 2, Detective Kaoru Utsumi Kou Shibasaki visits the brilliant professor of physics Manabu Yukawa Masaharu Fukuyama to introduce her new colleague, detective Misa Kishitani Yuriko Yoshitaka. This introduction is made on orders from Detective Shunpei Kusanagi Kazuki Kitamura of The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, a university alumnus of Yukawa. Kaoru presents a puzzling case involving a person who fell to their death from the fifth floor of the building of a religious group called Kuai in Kamata. Allegedly, the group's leader Takao Osawa sent energy to the victim, resulting in the fall. Kaoru shares magazine photographs of the incident, which show that the leader did not make physical contact, yet the victim's eyes became hazy. Intrigued by this unusual phenomenon, Manabu Yukawa takes on the case, believing the entire incident can be proven scientifically.
