In the poignant drama Forget Love for Now, Yuki is a young single mother working hard as a bar hostess to support herself and her son, Haru. Life becomes challenging when Haru is shunned by his friends, including the good-natured Tomio Aoki, whose parents forbid them from playing with Haru due to Yuki’s occupation. Facing financial struggles and low morale after her boss denies her a pay raise, Yuki is devastated to learn Haru is skipping school. However, Haru explains that nobody will play with him. Determined to give him a fresh start, Yuki transfers Haru to a new school the next day. There, he is warmly welcomed by a group of Chinese immigrants, creating a sharp contrast to Yuki's own declaration to her manager that she will never entertain immigrants at her bar. When Haru's new friends eventually clash with his old social circle, the young boy is forced to stand up and defend his mother's honor.
