Fong Sai yuk is a thrilling martial arts extravaganza set during a time of political rebellion and romantic confusion. The story follows the secret Red Lotus Flower Society, also known as the Red Flower brotherhood, which is committed to overthrowing the evil Manchu Emperor and restoring the Ming dynasty. When a Governor is sent to retrieve the society's secret member list, the tension escalates. Meanwhile, Canton kung fu practitioner Fong Sai Yuk falls in love with the beautiful daughter of a rich merchant. To gain local influence, the merchant offers his daughter in marriage to the winner of a kung fu contest. This triggers a comedy of errors with hilarious gender role-reversals. As Fong Sai Yuk gets drawn into the secret brotherhood's mission, he must balance intense social upheaval with his own moral conflicts. Ultimately, he must learn to conform to the rigid regime while sorting out a complicated love life saddled with two presumptive wives.
