Description:

In early 20th century Shanghai, Chan Zan and his younger sister seek a new beginning after their home village is ravaged by bandits. Chan discovers a city under the influence of foreign powers, including Britain and Japan, a division reflected in Shanghai's disunited martial arts community. Despite master Fok Yuengap's efforts to rally schools against foreign intrusion, Chan initially struggles, working as a rickshaw puller and coolie. His fortunes shift when he rescues the renowned singer Yikiu from thugs. Through her introduction, Chan joins the formidable Green Gang. His extraordinary fighting prowess quickly makes him the gang's premier fighter, earning him the strong favor of its boss, Choi Lukkan. This pivotal moment thrusts Chan into the city's dangerous underworld, where his skills will be tested like never before.
