In the thrilling crime comedy Evil Engulfs, Pagalavan, Kesavan, and Sekar are three unemployed friends who unexpectedly team up with Das Vijay Sethupathi, a mastermind running a clever kidnap-for-ransom scam. As their criminal enterprise begins to flourish, their path crosses with Arumai Prakasam, the son of a strict state finance minister. Denied capital to start his business, Arumai Prakasam stages his own kidnapping to extort money from his father. However, his plan backfires hilariously when he ends up in the hands of Das and co. This comedy of errors takes a dramatic turn when the finance minister assigns Brahmma, a badass encounter specialist cop, to hunt down the culprits. A high-stakes game of cat and mouse begins as Das and co try to stay ahead of the relentless cop.
