Description:

In 1941 occupied Shanghai, a woman named Xueer endures heartbreak when her husband, Gui, abandons her and their child for a wealthier woman amidst wartime hardship. On the brink of suicide, she is saved by Bai, who helps her navigate the entertainment world. A powerful Shanghai magnate, Qiao, desires Xueer, and she initially uses his influence to reclaim her son. But tragedy strikes, leading to her son's death. Devastated, Xueer vows revenge on Gui, leveraging Qiao's resources. Meanwhile, Bai, still in love, takes a dangerous role in the puppet government to win her back. They marry, but Qiao continues to fuel Xueer's vengeful desires. Eventually, Xueer realizes her mistakes, guided by Bai. However, to save Bai from a looming peril, Xueer makes the ultimate sacrifice, giving up her body and life in a final, heartbreaking act.
