Set in a remote village in the hills of West Hunan, the captivating drama Endless Way tells a poignant story of survival and sacrifice. For centuries, water has been the most precious resource here, carried daily up from the valley on strong backs. The film follows Ah Ming, a young man embarking on a life of endless labor to provide this sacred commodity for his family. Ah Ming marries a girl from a neighboring village, while his true love, Ah Shui, watches sadly from the sidelines. However, the harsh routine proves too much for his new wife, who soon flees, never to return. In the wake of this heartbreak, the loyal Ah Shui steps forward to care for Ah Ming and his ailing mother, sharing their immense grief. As the villagers endure their daily struggles, hope shines through a government project to build canals and dams. Though this dream has already cost Ah Ming his father's life, the community works eagerly for a better future. But before water finally reaches the top, tragedy strikes once more.
