Set in 1941 Shanghai, the historical spy thriller East Wind Rain follows Chinese agent Gong An Ming, played by Liu Yun Long, who receives a mysterious roll of film containing a world-shattering secret. This film exposes a Japanese military plan code-named East Wind Rain, signaling an imminent invasion of American territory. Decoded during a weather report from Radio Tokyo on December 4, 1941, Gong An Ming tries to warn the Americans, but his critical warning is inexplicably ignored. Amidst this high-stakes espionage, Gong An Ming falls deeply in love with Huan Yan, a beautiful singer and pianist played by Fan Bing Bing. Unknown to him, Huan Yan is also a secret agent. As the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor looms, Gong An Ming must navigate a deadly web of betrayal. He is forced to risk his life and decide whether Huan Yan is his true lover or a dangerous enemy. Can he survive the enemy trap, or will his mission end in tragedy?
