Dust In The Wind is a bittersweet coming-of-age drama that follows Wan and Huen, two devoted high school sweethearts commuting from their provincial coal-mining hometown. Faced with limited academic and economic opportunities in his bucolic village, the diligent Wan decides to forgo his final high school years and move to Taipei. In the bustling city, he works at a printing press by day and attends evening classes to build a better future. Soon after, his reticent girlfriend Huen follows him to Taipei, securing a job as a seamstress. Together, the young couple navigates the trials of working-class life, drifting through the final days of their adolescence. As they balance their humble jobs in Taipei with periodic visits back home, they reluctantly await Wan's inevitable military conscription, holding onto the comforting hope that they will finally marry after his compulsory service is complete.
