Densha Otoko tells the charming story of Aoyama Saori, an office lady at a multinational company, who finds herself in trouble with a drunkard on a train. Fortunately, she is saved by Yamada Tsuyoshi, a kind but socially awkward man. To express her deep appreciation, Saori sends Tsuyoshi a set of beautiful Hermes teacups. Having absolutely no experience with the opposite sex, Tsuyoshi is lost on how to approach her. Desperate for romance advice, he decides to ask for help on the Aladdin Channel BBS. With the support of anonymous internet users, he learns how to interact with Saori. This unique romance is adapted from the novel Densha Otoko by Nakano Hitori, which itself is based on a real online conversation on the famous Japanese forum 2channel.
