Cloud Stairs is a gripping melodrama about Choi Jong Soo, played by Shin Dong Wook, an ambitious man abandoned at an orphanage who cannot afford medical school. Seeking his father, he travels to a remote island and spends seven years mastering medical skills under the local doctor. His life changes forever when he saves Yoon Jung Won, played by Han Ji Hye, the daughter of an elite Seoul hospital owner. Mistaken for a certified doctor, Jong Soo is pulled into a web of deception as he falls in love with Jung Won, who is already engaged. Driven by love, he lies about his credentials to stay near her. However, the higher he rises in this false reality, the harder he falls. When his lies collapse, he loses everything except the unconditional love of Jung Won, who stands by him.
