Description:

In the film Chime, Matsuoka is a culinary school teacher whose unenthusiastic routine takes a dark turn. One day, his student Tashiro makes a strange claim, hearing a mysterious "chime" and believing it to be a message. Though school administrators warn Matsuoka about Tashiro's eccentricities, he remains unfazed.

However, Tashiro's behavior escalates dramatically when he declares that half of his brain has been replaced by a machine, taking drastic measures to prove his astonishing assertion. Some time after this unsettling incident, Matsuoka continues teaching a female student, Akemi, still lacking enthusiasm. Yet, when Akemi expresses discomfort over a whole chicken during a lesson, something inexplicable and profound suddenly overtakes Matsuoka. This bizarre event unravels his ordinary life, as a strange, pervasive dread begins to undulate through his existence, both at the school and within his own home.
