In the heartbreaking drama Cherry Tomato, Park Gu struggles to make ends meet for himself and his beloved granddaughter, Daseong, by collecting recyclable paper on the streets. Their already fragile lives take a devastating turn when his son is released from prison and heartlessly steals Park Gu's life savings. To make matters worse, a group of construction workers destroys his bicycle-drawn cart, which is his only tool for earning money. Driven by desperation and hunger, Park Gu visits the home of the construction company's head. In an act of pure survival, he attempts to steal meat from the residence to feed his starving granddaughter. However, a tragic twist awaits them. The meat, originally meant for the owner's dog, has been secretly poisoned by a disgruntled housekeeper who despises her boss. This poignant film explores the harsh realities of poverty and the lengths a grandfather will go to protect his family.
