Set in the haunting village of Bunohan, meaning murder, this intense drama follows three estranged half-brothers and their ailing father, Pok Eng. Pok Eng is an old wayang kulit puppetmaster whose sons have taken drastically different paths in life. Ilham, a cold-blooded hitman for a Thai crime syndicate, is sent by his keeper Deng to track down a runaway kickboxer. Unbeknownst to him, the target is his own half-brother, Adil. Adil has been rescued by his friend Muski and brought back to his old mentor Pok Wah. Meanwhile, the third brother, Bakar, is a scheming opportunist trying to steal their father's ancestral land to sell to developers, using his ruthless henchman Jolok to bribe and threaten locals. As this fractured family converges on their home village, the ghost of Ilham's mother Mek Yah haunts the nearby swamps and beaches. Their reunion triggers a tragic cycle of corruption, betrayal, despair, violence, and murder.
