In the classic 1947 short Brideless Groom starring The Three Stooges, Shemp finds himself in a desperate race against the clock. Working as a voice teacher, Shemp learns that he could inherit a huge fortune, but only if he gets married by six oclock. Desperate to secure the money, he immediately starts proposing to his students, but none of them accept his sudden marriage proposals. With time running out, Shemp finally proposes to one particularly unattractive student who agrees to the match. However, when his other students discover the truth about his massive inheritance, they quickly change their minds. The greedy students flock to the wedding ceremony, eager to win him over. Total chaos ensues as everyone fights for his hand, but Shemp somehow manages to overcome the madness and get married in the nick of time.
