The gripping drama Borderline follows Akira Teppei Koike, a rookie firefighter who starts his career on the wrong foot by arriving late on his first day. When a fire breaks out, Akira joins his team at the scene but freezes in terror before the flames. Back at the station, he hopes to work behind the scenes and avoid active fire sites. Recognizing his struggle, Fire Captain Yohei Toshio Kakei places Akira with the emergency medical services team. Although the busy medical unit frequently handles non-urgent calls, Akira faces a true test of courage when they are called to a tragic car accident. There, a young child is in cardiopulmonary arrest. Under the direct orders of team Captain Kaede Norika Fujiwara, Akira administers critical first aid. Against the odds, the child’s condition stabilizes, allowing Akira to experience the life-changing moment of saving someone for the first time in his life.
