Based on a true story, the biographical drama Blue Swallow follows the inspiring journey of Park KyungWon, one of the first Korean female pilots. Since childhood, Park KyungWon dreamed of taking to the skies. Determined to achieve her goal, she travels to Japan at age twenty-six to enroll in aviation school, supporting herself by driving a taxi. During one of her shifts, she meets JiHyeok, a Korean exchange student who is deeply drawn to her ambition. Although a romance blossoms, JiHyeok must leave to enlist in the army. Years later, KyungWon successfully completes her first flight, gaining massive praise in Korea. She soon mentors JungHee, a young Korean student eager to follow in her footsteps. When a discharged JiHyeok returns as an officer at the aviation school, the two reunite and find their love is stronger than ever. Ultimately, KyungWon sets her sights on a historic long-distance flight to South Korea.
