The drama Best Bet follows Ho Yee, played by Michael Tse, a lucky but heavily addicted gambler who collapses on the street after an intense three-day gambling spree. He is rescued by Sheila To LaiYing, portrayed by Linda Chung, and instantly falls in love with her. However, Sheila faces her own family crisis. Her father, another chronic gambler, owes a massive debt to ruthless loan sharks. To save her father, Sheila agrees to a marriage of convenience with Ho Yee to pay off the debt. Meanwhile, Ho Yee faces constant rivalry from Tsang DakShing, played by Wayne Lai, his childhood best friend turned bitter enemy. When a high-stakes gamble against Tsang DakShing costs Ho Yee his entire family fortune, his life spirals out of control. Now, Ho Yee must embark on a difficult journey to conquer his destructive gambling addiction, win back his family’s wealth, and regain the trust of those he loves.
