The compelling drama Bends follows the interconnected lives of two people from very different social classes. Fai, played by Kun Chen, lives in mainland China but commutes to work everyday in Hong Kong. He works as a dedicated chauffeur to Anna, played by Carina Lau, an affluent housewife accustomed to a life of privilege. Fai desperately wants to bring his family to Hong Kong to have their second child, facing intense pressure to secure their future. Meanwhile, Anna's seemingly perfect life begins to unravel when her husband abruptly leaves her, forcing her to confront heavy debts and social ruin. As both characters struggle with their respective crises, their lives intersect inside the quiet space of the car. This movie beautifully captures their silent desperation and the harsh realities of the economic divide.
