Set in the 7th century, Battlefield Heroes (Pyongyang Castle) is a humorous historical movie depicting an intricate battle between the Korean kingdoms of Silla and Goguryeo, alongside the Chinese Tang dynasty. Serving as a sequel to the 2003 film Once Upon a Time in a Battlefield, the story takes place eight years after the events of the original movie. Silla, a rising Korean power, aligns with the Chinese Tang dynasty to launch an attack on its larger Korean rival, Goguryeo. However, strategist Kim YooShin Jeong JinYeong, who is intent on unifying Korea, notices the Chinese ambition to control the Korean peninsula. To prevent this, Kim secretly conspires to join forces with Goguryeo to thwart the Tang dynasty's desire for expansion.
