Based on the novel Rikyu ni Tazuneyo by Kenichi Yamamoto, the historical drama Ask This of Rikyu follows the extraordinary life of Sen no Rikyu. Born the humble son of a fish shop owner in Japan, he dedicates himself to studying tea, eventually redefining the traditional Japanese tea ceremony with his elegant aesthetics. His unmatched refinement catches the attention of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the most powerful man in Japan. Soon, Sen no Rikyu becomes one of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's closest and most influential advisors. However, as their relationship grows complex, intense conflicts begin to arise between the ruler and the tea master.
