Description:

Set during the reign of Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, the historical drama Asaki Yumemishi follows a devastating fire in Edo that destroys the prosperous Yaogen greengrocer. Following the tragedy, the owner's daughter, Oshichi, is sent to seek refuge at the Daijoji temple. There, she falls deeply in love with Kichisaburo, a temple worker of mysterious samurai origin who dreams of becoming a scholar. The two share a passionate, secret bond. However, once the Yaogen shop is rebuilt, Oshichi's father, Kihee, calls her back home.
