Description:

Around 40 is a compelling drama centering on Ogata Satoko, a highly capable 39-year-old psychiatrist who happily embraces her single life. Satisfied with her successful career, financial stability, and hobbies like staying at luxurious Japanese inns, Satoko feels no rush to find a partner. She enjoys the company of her single friends, including 35-year-old Morimura Nao and high school peer Oikawa Sadao. However, during an alumni reunion, her married friend Takeuchi Mizue pressures her to marry and have children, arguing it is the ultimate happiness for women. Though unconvinced, Satoko's life takes an unexpected turn during a trip to a hot-spring inn. While trying to cheer up Nao after a shocking incident, Satoko witnesses the dramatic breakup of Okamura Keitaro, a handsome yet eccentric man.
