The drama Always Smile follows Liang Yufang, the wealthy heir of a five-star hotel who runs away from home to work at the bottom level of his family business under a different name. There, he meets Tian Wei, an aspiring singer working as a pastry employee to support her alcoholic father and mentally challenged brother. After a series of misunderstandings, the two fall in love. However, when Liang Yufangs secret identity is exposed, Tian Wei begins to doubt his truthfulness. Their romance faces further opposition from the Liang family due to Tian Weis brother. At this critical moment, coworker Zhao Xi intervenes. Although Liang Yufang publicly rejects her, Zhao Xis clever positioning makes the indebted Liang family embrace her. As Zhao Xi rises in the hotel and secures an engagement to Liang Yufang, she secretly harbors a dark motive of revenge that threatens to destroy their lives.
