Set in 1948 during a time of severe economic and political chaos in Peking, All Quiet in Peking is a gripping historical drama. The story follows Meng Ao (played by Liu Ye), a Kuomintang Air Force Colonel and underground Communist Party member. As the ruling national government faces rampant corruption and collapse, Meng Ao is court-martialed for defying orders. However, he receives impunity through the intervention of Jiang Jingguo and is tasked with investigating a massive financial fraud case at the central bank branch in Peking. Interestingly, this bank is managed by his own father, Fang Buting (played by Wang Qingxiang). Amidst the turbulent backdrop of war, Meng Ao must navigate dangerous military investigations, political conspiracies, and betrayal from his colleagues. Facing constant suspicion from all sides, he and other underground workers risk everything to fight corruption and lay the foundation for a new China.
