The comedy movie Afuro Tanaka follows Hiroshi Tanaka, played by Shota Matsuda, who stands out with his natural, intense afro hair that he was born with. Seeking personal freedom, Hiroshi moves to Tokyo. Although he works hard in the big city, he reaches his 24th birthday without ever having a girlfriend. His anxiety skyrockets when a former school friend announces his upcoming marriage, reminding Hiroshi of a promise they once made. Desperate to find love, Hiroshi becomes increasingly impatient to find a girlfriend. His luck might change when a beautiful woman named Aya Kato, played by Nozomi Sasaki, moves into his neighborhood.
