Based on real-life stories, Address Unknown is a gripping drama set in the South Korean countryside surrounding a U.S. military base. The film deeply explores the lives of villagers impacted by the foreign military presence. At the heart of the story are three troubled youths: Jihum, a lonesome boy; Eunok, a young girl struggling with one defective eye; and Changguk, who resides in an abandoned U.S. Air Force bus with his mother. Desperate for a better future, Changguk's mother teaches him English, preparing him for a dreamed-of life in America with his father. She constantly mails letters to the father, but they are always returned marked address unknown. Meanwhile, their lives intersect with an unstable, near-psychotic American soldier fueled by rage and LSD.
