Absolute Boyfriend is a captivating drama series based on the popular Japanese shojo manga Zettai Kareshi by Watase Yu. The story follows Guan Xiao Fei, also known as Riiko, a young girl who is constantly unlucky in love. Her life takes a strange turn when a mysterious salesman hands her a business card for a website selling love figures. These are highly advanced androids designed for lovemaking. On a whim, Riiko orders a perfectly made male android for a three-day free trial, unaware of the massive financial cost if she decides to keep him. Things get complicated when she actually begins to develop real feelings for the robot, whom she names Night. To make matters more intense, Riiko has a close best friend who is secretly in love with her. This sparks a series of strange adventures between them. Filmed between April and July 2012, this romantic series beautifully explores love, technology, and human emotion.
