A Tale of Two Sisters unveils the unsettling return of siblings Su Mi and Su Yeon to their family home after a lengthy illness and hospital stay. Their lives are irrevocably altered by their mother's recent passing, leaving a void that current circumstances only intensify. Stepmother Eun Joo offers a strained welcome, but it’s clear family dynamics are fractured. Su Mi, the elder and more outspoken sister, courageously challenges their stepmother, while the timid Su Yeon seeks solace and protection from her sister amidst Eun Joo's relentless taunts and harassment. Despite the constant torment, the sisters feel bound to endure for their father's sake, with Su Mi fiercely promising to shield Su Yeon from further harm.

Yet, their struggles soon evolve beyond human conflict. Strange, unexplainable phenomena begin to plague the house, a chilling shift the sisters instinctively feel. On their initial night back, Su Yeon is terrorized by an unseen presence; footsteps ascend, her door opens, and her bed covers are violently snatched away. The unsettling question arises: Is their stepmother orchestrating these terrifying events to torment them further, or has a more sinister, supernatural force taken root within the house, intent on driving everyone away?
