A Chinese Ghost Story is a gripping fantasy movie set on the ancient Black Mountain. When a road construction project disrupts local spirits, terrified workers flee, leaving only Ning Cai Chen, a young man who believes in science, to finish the road. Ning Cai Chen harbors a dark childhood trauma: witnessing his father die at the hands of an evil spirit. Meanwhile, Xiao Qian, a young leopard cat spirit eager to impress the powerful century tree spirit, volunteers to eliminate Ning Cai Chen. However, discovering their intertwined fate, she saves him instead. Tension rises as the veteran ghost hunter Summer Snow Wind Lightning arrives to protect an ancient seal keeping the vengeful Black Mountain Spirit imprisoned. If released, this evil spirit vows to destroy all couples in love. To save mankind, Ning Cai Chen urges Xiao Qian to make a dangerous choice: grab the demon stick from Xia Bing to destroy the Black Mountain spirit, leaving Xiao Qian facing a difficult decision.
