"20 30 40" intricately weaves the lives of three distinct women in Taipei, whose love lives are as unpredictable as the city's periodic minor earthquakes. A twenty-year-old, newly arrived and eager to escape strict parents, pursues her dream of pop stardom. Her newfound independence, however, leads to unexpected emotional turmoil as she seeks to advance her ambitions. Concurrently, a thirtysomething flight attendant finds herself entangled in a complicated love triangle, balancing a passionate affair with a married man and a relationship with a younger lover. Finally, a forty-year-old divorcee, who looks younger than her age, thoroughly enjoys her single life and casual rendezvous. Her world shifts when she meets an attractive single man, only to discover he is dating someone the same age as her daughter. This film is a compelling exploration of romance, independence, and the turbulent challenges faced by women at different stages of life.
