Description:

In the late Ming Dynasty, corruption plagues the Chinese imperial court as power-hungry eunuchs usurp control from an incompetent emperor. At the center of this power struggle is the Jinyi Wei, also known as the Brocadeclad Guards. Trained in deadly clandestine combat since childhood, this elite secret police force was created to protect the emperor, but they have now fallen under the control of the corrupt eunuch faction. Chief eunuch Jia Jingzhong secretly plots with the exiled noble Prince Qing to overthrow the throne. To execute their treasonous plan, Jia orders Qinglong, the fearsome chief of the Jinyi Wei, to assassinate the loyal Imperial Councilor Zhao Shenyan. Qinglong must also retrieve Zhao’s mysterious safebox, which reportedly contains a list identifying dangerous traitors within the empire. 14 Blades is an action-packed martial arts film filled with betrayal, political intrigue, and deadly secrets.
