Future X-Cop is a sci-fi action movie set in the year 2080. Police officer Kidd (Andy Lau) and his wife Millie (Bingbing Fan) are tasked with protecting Dr. Masterson (Jingwu Ma), the genius behind a cheap solar energy method that threatens powerful oil tycoons. When a fierce ambush by half-man, half-machine humanoids led by Kalon (SiuWong Fan) and Fiona (Yifei Tang) leaves Millie dead, the tycoons steal time travel technology. They send revamped 2.0 versions of the cyborgs back to the year 2020 to murder Dr. Masterson as a twelve-year-old kid. To stop them, Kidd undergoes radical surgery to transform into a bionic man with mechanical limbs. Traveling back to 2020 with his daughter Kiki, Kidd works as a cop to blend in. Despite attracting fellow officer Holly (Barbie Hsu), Kidd must focus on his mission as a fierce showdown with the deadly androids looms.
